The engineering of unease

About

Alex built the voice synthesis pipeline. The system that takes text and turns it into Jan's voice - warm, friendly, subtly wrong. The same system that generates the narrator's measured cadence.

The eye-tracking simulation was the hardest part. Not the technical implementation - that's just code. The hard part was calibrating it to feel invasive without being obvious. To make you feel watched before you understand why.

Every technical decision serves the narrative. The loading animations. The audio caching. The way slides transition. Alex doesn't just make things work - they make things work in service of the story.

Technical Philosophy

// The best horror is indistinguishable from a bug
function simulateWatching() {
  // Follow the eyes
  // Make it subtle
  // They shouldn't be sure
}

"Technology should be invisible. When you notice the tech, you're pulled out of the experience. But when you feel something without knowing why - that's when the code is doing its job."
